Grizzly Man

Non dovete perdervi Grizzly Man, documentario messo su da Herzog con interviste e girato di Tim Treadwell, che passò dal 90 al 2003 tredici estati con gli orsi Grizzly in Alaska.

Convinto di avere la missione di proteggerli, ed in cerca di un mondo più semplice e naturale, spesso con gli orsi entrò un po' troppo in confidenza, ignorando un sacco di quelle regole che magari conviene rispettare con bestie altre 3 metri e dalle enormi bocche.

Più dei dettagli stile blair witch project (la telecamera girava, anche se solo in audio, mentre l'orso affamato attaccava lui e la sua ragazza), è veramente interessante il punto di vista e la lettura di Herzog su un animo non convenzionale, nevrotico e incasinato come quello di Treadwell, vero nome Dexter, il "guerriero tranquillo", armato di telecamera, caschetto biondo a nascondere la calvizie, un passato di eroina e alcol, ma niente armi o spray al pepe.

Qualche anima pia ha messo tutto il documentario su google video, meglio di così?

Ok, lo so che magari tutti ci siete andati e io mi sveglio solo ora. Ma se non l'avete fatto, andateci che merita proprio.

Anche io, notorio orso pronto a disgustarsi al minino accenno di girl power (o anche man power eh), di buoni sentimenti eccetera, non ho niente di cui lamentarmi. Bene, bravi bis.

Ora mi resterebbe da capire com'è davvero questo Iran, aspetterò il ritorno del mio amico latitante, spedito ad insegnare italiano e storia nel liceo italiano di Teheran. Ma chissà se me lo spiega.

Hi, lovely dudes and dudettes,

this is a great idea. It works like this: someone will equip a car with a projector, and a short range fm transmitter. The place and time and title of the film are declared before on the internet. Then you show up, tune the radio to the appropriate frequency, and you enjoy the movie "or steam up the windows" (urgh).

This seems to be an american-only movement.. and, for once, maybe it's a pity, because they are showing some good movies!

Actually, according to "The Sun" this idea seems to have quite a success in Cardiff as well. In fact two students were arrested when they projected a porn film on to a neighbourÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s house:

They set up the 20ft x 30ft screening so that all their pals could watch it in the street. But cops pulled the plug on the steamy action in Cardiff. They said: Ã¢â‚¬Å“The women were three times lifesize Ã¢â‚¬â€ it was great.Ã¢â‚¬Â

Frank Miller's Sin City

I had never read the comic books (I'm not that much into comic books). But this movie is impressive. It's a moving comic book. You get the motion, action and the voices. Try to get an english version. You'll end talking in a deep voice to your baker the next morning. "Make it one more leaf, lad"... "Now that's fair trade, a leaf for me, a buck for you, sweetheart..."

It's crazy stuff, you might like it. You just have to be in the right mood, and we were tonight! :)

7 years and it's worth it

Finland, present time: Captain Pirk and his crew are struck on planet earth - they come from the future. A future of crazy finnish trekkies.

It's a full lenght movie, with studio-level visual effects, but some 5 students from Tampere did it. It's released under a creative commons license.

It took them 7 years to do this movie. You can download it for free in a couple hours.

(get the subtitled version though... it's in finnish)!

Seven years in the making of this... This is wierd.
