I do have a problem with barbershops: they suck. I hope civilization will replace barbers with robots very soon.

You have basically two choices: you can go for the stylish ones, super expensive, where they will ask you about the style of your haircut, showing you some magazines full of Tom Cruise clones. Or you can go for the shabby ones, which of course i always do. These, around here, are normally middle aged man from the south of italy, striclty manly guys.

The problem, for me at least, is the conversation: football is of course mandatory, and they simply are startled if you say you don't support either Juventus or Torino. Discouraged but not defeated, they proceed asking you about your job/school. I never know what to answer (partly state-funded research center about ict + a position as slave in the Politecnico di Torino is not so easy to explain)... So I normally go for "i work in computers", so they stop.

So they normally get to the other guys in the queue, and you know they despise you.

This is really a serious problem for me, once I tried to resist not speaking a single word. I almost managed, but it was the end of december so I had to mutter a "merry christmas" on my way out. Damn!

But now this problem is no more. I found the ideal barbershop: shabby, exactly on the other side of the street I live in.

What makes it so special? It was wi-fi coverage. MY wi-fi coverage. So i can sit, and for example, write this entry... No conversation needed! Problem FIXED!

Ok, it's my turn to get hairdressed... :)
