Comment spamming has become so annoying, you might be tempted to close comments altogether in your blog.

But then you lose half the fun;

Or you could moderate all of them.

But then that will become your full time job, and that's not good (because you would anyway somehow read all that comments, and decide for some surgery or chemical for penis enlargment) (yeah, there's this mechanism in a male's brain... anyway I'm fine thanks).

Or, do the right thing! Let the machine do all the work! Let's install plugins! Yes, plugins, because sometimes the risk of infection is so high (let's say... Jenna Jameson) that you have to wear double protection. And comment spamming is top level bio-hazard.

So follow these steps:
1. forget about my gross jenna jameson comment
2. head over to wordpress.com and get a wordpress api key (you don't have to know that

a wordpress api key is an unique code that identifies you as a wordpress user. It comes free with a wordpress.com account, and it will make you look better and healtier and cooler

3. Install Akismet and insert that api key you got in step 2

4. Go and get Bad Behaviour, another spam fighting plugin.

5. activate it (in the admin interface)

6. enjoy your spamless blog.

Of course there's the downside... it will look even emptier like that. So some up with something stupid , or smart, to post in it!

Hint! : if you manage to squeeze the terms "penis enlargment" and "jenna jameson" in it, it will get a lot of attention! :D
